Intern, Video

Location: (Multiple states)

Type: Internship

Min. Experience: Experienced

Are you a talented videographer with a passion for dance music? Are you based in New York? If the answer to both of these questions is yes, then we want you to apply for an internship at Dancing Astronaut.

Contributing to Dancing Astronaut will give you an unparalleled opportunity to test your skills on the front lines of the music world and to work with some of your favorite artists. Get the internship, and a month from now you might be shooting on stage with Diplo or Flume. More than anything else, you will be immersed in the world of dance music - and learn a lot about the industry while you're at it.

As a video intern, you will help generate high quality video packages under the guidance of our production team. You should feel comfortable filming everything from intimate backstage interviews to high energy shots of a live crowd and have a grip on the standard industry style. You will be responsible for producing footage in a timely manner to meet the specifications of our production team. While you should expect to be sent on specific assignments, rest assured. You'll be interacting with some of the most in-demand DJs on Earth.

  • Previous videography experience (studio, freelance, school) is a must
  • Mastery of video editing software (After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.)
  • An established workflow--from shooting to editing to publishing
  • A self-motivated attitude
  • A willingness to hustle to get the job done
  • Excellent communication and teamwork

  • Be available to shoot and edit at least 3 events/interviews per month (approx 5hrs/week)
  • Have your own equipment: camera, tripod, memory card, batteries, etc. (lights/mics are a plus, but not required)
  • Be knowledgeable about and interested in electronic music

This is an UNPAID internship (that can be taken for school credit). Although our video interns are UNPAID, there is room to grow with our team. Above all, you'll receive unprecedented access to international talent and gain tons of industry experience.

Due to the nature of the music industry and its related age restrictions, priority is given to applicants who are aged 21 and over.
